IIC BOSS BAGS FELLOWSHIP
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of International
Insurance Company (SL) Limited, Nduka O. Anyaso, recently
qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute
of London.
Consequently, he has been elected by the Board of the Institute
into the revered elite group of Chartered Insurance Institute
of London, which was conveyed to him in a letter from the
Secretary of the Fellowship Board of the Institute, Ms Rebecca
Fletcher, taking effect from the 1st of October, 2010. By
this professional attainment, Mr. Anyaso has thus, become
one of the few insurance practitioners that are entitled to
use the letters FCII (Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute)
after their names. He actually qualified as a Chartered Insurer
in 1992, with an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute
of London (ACII) and in 1993, was elected an Associate of
the Insurance Institute of Nigeria (AIIN) .
It would be recalled that Mr. Anyaso's career in Insurance
started after he graduated from the University of Lagos in
1987 with a Bachelors of Science honours degree in Insurance
and worked for several Insurance Companies in Nigeria, which
included - Niger Insurance Plc, Admiral Insurance Company
and Platinum Insurance Brokers among others.
He ventured into the management of inter-continental insurance
business, when he left Nigeria to set-up and became the pioneer
Managing Director/CEO of International Insurance Company Limited,
Banjul, The Gambia in 2001 and in 2003, he started IIC (SL)
Limited as the pioneer Managing Director/CEO, growing the
company to become one of the big players in Sierra Leone's
insurance industry. In recognition of his contribution to
the insurance industry in Sierra Leone, His Excellency, The
President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, appointed Mr. Anyaso, to
serve on the Board of the Sierra Leone Insurance Commission.
In addition, he has helped to set up International Insurance
Company in Guinea and Liberia, and they all are strong and
doing well contributing to the socio-economic development
of their various countries.
His pedigree in the application of the principles and practice
of Insurance ethics and ethos by IIC is well acknowledged
in international insurance circles. In addition, Mr. Anyaso's
scholarly disposition as a resource fellow and author of two
books in insurance, as well as his special knack in setting-up
profitable insurance entities in whichever clime, were all
part of what earned him the coveted Fellowship of the Chartered
Insurance Institute.
