The Principal Officers are as follows:

Nduka O. Anyaso, B.Sc (Hons) INS. ACII (LOND), AIIN
- Managing Director/Chief Executive.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Company is Mr. Nduka O. Anyaso. He is a seasoned insurance professional with experience in all facets of insurance spanning over 20 years, an author, an insurance scholar and corporate player in the insurance industry.

He obtained a B.Sc. (Hons.) Degree in Insurance from the University of Lagos in 1987, and qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London in 1992, and also as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria in 1993.

He started his insurance career with Niger Insurance Plc in 1980, and was the pioneer Manager in charge of Motor/Marine Department in Admiral Insurance Company Limited (Nigeria) where he later became a Controller (Underwriting). He began Platinum Insurance Brokers Limited (Nigeria) as its pioneer General Manager/Chief Executive Officer before joining International Trust Insurance Company Limited (The Gambia) as its pioneer Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, the post he held before starting International Insurance Company (Sierra Leone) Limited.

He lectured at the West African Insurance Institute (WAII), Banjul, The Gambia. Recently, he launched two books titled “Insurance Marketing in West Africa” and “The Environment of Insurance Business In West Africa”. He is happily married with children.

Paul Uchenna Oparah (B.SC, Actuarial Science, MAS, Actuarial Science, ACII)
- Deputy General Manager

Paul left Wiggins Teape Plc to start a career in insurance in the year 2000 with NFI Insurance Company Plc as Assistance Superintendent in the General Insurance Business department. Because of his Actuarial Science background, he was redeployed to Life Insurance Department to head the Group Life Underwriting unit. He rose to the position of Manager II in the Life Department of NFI Insurance Company Limited until the merger with AIICO Insurance Plc. He joined AIICO Insurance Plc as a result of the merge but left shortly after the merger to join Spring Life Assurance Plc formerly Guardian Express Assurance Limited in 2008 as Deputy Manager and was in charge of Group Life Operations and Actuarial Services. From Spring Life Assurance Plc, he joined International Insurance Company (SL) Limited as Deputy General Manager and the pioneer Head of Life & Pensions Department.

Mr Paul Uchenna Oparah attended University of Lagos where he bagged a Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science in 1997 and obtained a Master of Actuarial Science (MAS) degree from the University of Ibadan in 2007. He is a chartered life insurer.

Mr. Ebere I. Nwalom (ACA, HND,[ACCTS], NIM)
– Assistant General Manager (Finance/Accounts)
An Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, he obtained HND in Accounting from the Federal Polytechnic, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. He has more than 20 years diverse experience in accounting and auditing, working in various establishments. This includes Professional Audit Firms, Manufacturing, Marketing and Consulting Companies.

He resigned as the General Manager of Media Specialist Ltd, Ilupeju, and Lagos, to join International Insurance Company (SL) Ltd in October, 2007.

He is also an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Management and a licence practising Accountant.

Mr. Francis L. Johnny- (B.A., Dip in Th, ),
- Manager Corporate Affairs
Francis qualified with a Bachelor’s Degree from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, in 1988 and he’s currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Barrington University in the United States. He has over 18 years experience in Corporate Administration having worked at the Standard Chartered Bank (SL) Ltd and the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Sierra Leone Program where he was Head of Administration and Human Resources. He has acquired several leadership and management skills training from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Mrs. Derica Tamuke
- Head, Fire and General Accident Department.
Her experience in the insurance industry dates back to 1976 (34 years ago) when she joined National Insurance Company (Sierra Leone) Limited as claims officer. She later became an assistant manager in the technical department before joining Gamster Insurance Company, Banjul, The Gambia as Senior Assistant Manager in charge of fire and general accident department. In 2002, she became the Assistant Technical Manager in Cresmet Brokers and Business Consultant from where our Company engaged her services.

In addition to her secondary education, she obtained several in service training while in National Insurance Company (SL) Limited. They include: Certificate of Studies from West African Insurance Institute, Certificate of Studies from Swiss Insurance Training Centre (Zurich Switzerland) and Certificate in Computer Studies.

Mr. Gilford John –(Dip.in Rsk Mgt, Dip. In Telecoms,)
- Head of Claims, Medical and Reinsurance
Gilford joins International Insurance Company (SL) Ltd after 10 years cognate work experience in Risk Management and Insurance Underwriting, covering various aspects of insurance operations and management. Before joining the International Insurance Company (SL) Ltd, he worked at Procredit Bank, SL as Risk Officer and Great Alliance Insurance Company, Banjul, The Gambia, where he rose to the rank of Assistant Manager (Technical).

Gilford holds a Diploma in Risk Management and Insurance from the West African Insurance Institute and is currently pursuing the Chartered Insurance Examination with the London Chartered Insurance Institute.

Mr. Darlington George – (HND. Business Studies)
-Head of Business Development and Marketing:
Darlington joined the services of International Insurance Company in November 2005 as Marketing Officer. Before joining IIC, Darlington served the Sierra Fishing Company (Bo Branch) and later worked as Assistant Administrative Officer at the Organisation for Social Welfare and HIV Aids (OSHWA). Since joining IIC, Darlington has demonstrated good marketing skills and has attended several international conferences and seminars. He successfully completed the Insurance Foundation Course from the West African Insurance Institute, Banjul, The Gambia, in 2008. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone.
